Day 1: São Paulo – Cuiabá
Today start your journey with your arrival in Guarulhos airport for your flight to Cuiabá. At your arrival your guide will pick you up at Cuiabá airport and after a quick lunch in town, you will head to the Pantanal. Your driver will transfer you to Porto Jofre and arrive at Jofre Lodge – our base for the next three nights. After lunch, you will go to aboard a boat tour on Cuiabá River, were you are going to start looking at your first jaguars.
Day 2: Pantanal Exploration
Enjoy an amazing day! Depart early after breakfast for a full-day jaguar tracking tour along the Cuiabá river and channels. Enjoy a guided boat tour that maximizes your chances of spotting these magnificent cats along the riverbanks. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon continue the search, with intermittent stops for wildlife photography, among the incredible wildlife to see here include capybaras, caimans, and diverse bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner. Option for a relaxing evening enjoying the sounds of the Pantanal at night.
Day 3: Pantanal Exploration
Today after breakfast, we have another chance to spot amazing wildlife through the stunning landscapes of Brazil’s Pantanal, We will take a boat ride on the Cuiabá River towards the Piquiri River. Explore the margins of the river in search of this great cat, as well as other impressive fauna such as the Ocelot, the Jabiru, Scarlet & Hyacinth macaws and many more iconic birds of the Pantanal. After an afternoon break for lunch. we will return to the river for an afternoon boat trip. Between the two boat trips, we should end up with an impressive array of birds, possibly including Sunbittern and Sungrebe, Plumbeous Ibis, Maguari Storks and Rufescent Tiger-herons. As the sun sets, engage in an engaging discussion with your knowledgeable guide, exchanging stories about the awe-inspiring animals encountered during the safari. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge.
Day 4: Return back to Cuiabá
After four days of amazing wildlife watching on the river, we will return back to Cuibá along the Transpantaneira, along the Transpantaneira road you will have a good opportunity to spot species that are harder to see on the river, like the Giant anteater, armadillos and Brazilian tapir, as well as some fantastic birds. In the afternoon transfer to Cuiabá airport to take your flight home.
